Beech over a sea of clouds.
Mount Ramaceto, Liguria, Italy.
Over the clouds, it seems to me to live another planet, I could watch the usual land changes shapes and consistency.
The clouds permit us to see only the highest thinks: only higher mountains could appear over this amazing white coat.
Maybe we are trying to reach stability in life, but what we really need is just the right balance, like these trees over the abyss: in their stillness, they know how to slowly move to reach the equilibrium, and the bends of trees trunk remember to us how to adapt properly to strong wind that flows at this altitude.
They know and reproduce the shape of the air, their shapes are like the wings of a bird: stillness and movement at the same time, like a springboard towards our dream.

The right balance
The following image shows a wood in Val di luce (Valley of Light).
This image contains multitudes, like ourselves. Inside our soul, many people inhabit: our ancestors, together with all the parts of us. Some parts in harmony, some others in conflicts. We aim to integrate all our parts, to create the masterpiece of life. Unique, deeply vast.
I love also how trees, together with their shadows, create a pattern. Photography can transform reality: our eyes can change the world, generating new shapes, reflecting our personal sensibility.
Here a piece of a poem by Walt Whitman:
"Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)"
"Mi contraddico?
Ebbene sì. Mi contraddico.
(Sono vasto, contengo moltitudini.)"

Machapuchare is called also 'fish's tail' because of it has two summits similar to the tail of a fish. It has been climbed in 1970 and after this climbing never climbed any more, because of for hinduist it is the home of God Shiva.

Gasherbrum II is over 8000 meters high.
At this altitude there are strong winds (jet streams), and sometimes you can see some special clouds, like that.

On June 18, 2025, the Rise Hope Charity will be at your service.
The journey of humanity has begun.
This activity is the realization of a dream where every child, no matter who they are,
Being in a disadvantaged area, can obtain education, respect, and opportunities for a better life.
We believe that education is not just the name of a book or a pen, but a tool that awakens minds, enlightens hearts, and shapes the future.
Our mission is with the same conviction that we provide education, training, and moral guidance to orphans, the poor, and disadvantaged children so that they can become dignified, aware, and enlightened.
Become a citizen of character.
The Rise Hope Charity's slogan is: "Service to Humanity."
Every step we take is based on the joy, sincerity, integrity, and humanity of Allah.
We uplift and fulfill every cooperation and trust from the heart.
The Rise Hope Charity services are currently ongoing throughout the Braldo Valley, a valley rich in natural beauty but lacking educational facilities. We offer our hope to the children who live at the foot of these mountains.
Spread knowledge and light.
We are not just running a one-time campaign; Rise Hope Charity is committed to carrying out a new project every six (6) months. No matter how small, continuous action and service will be our path.
The First Step
On June 18, 2025, the Rise Hope Charity launched its first mission with a primary school in Askole, where stationery was distributed to 135 schoolchildren with the help of our Italian friend Andrea. It wasn't just copies, pens, and erasers—
Rather, it was the smiles on the faces of these innocent children, and the hopes burning in their hearts. This move encouraged us to come here not just once, but again and again—insha Allah.
The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says:
"The best of people is their benefit to others."
"The best of people is he who brings the most benefit to others."
We know we are small, our resources are limited, but our dreams are big.
We invite you all to join us on this journey:
Remember us in your prayers, encourage us, and support us as much as you can.
Because small steps can become the reality of big dreams.
Ultimately, this is what we pray to our Lord:
"Oh my God! Grant us sincerity, transform our intentions into virtue,
Make our work a source of satisfaction.
And make us a source of peace for those children whose dreams are scattered.
Amen.

Here I was in Concordia camp, and the weather was bad. This region is protected by monsoon, but sometimes rain arrives and it can last for days. In these rainy day, we had time to rest, walking around the camp, and take pics to foggy landscape and porters life.
I saw this group of porters on a hill, I took my camera (with 200mm mounted), and I started to shot. After a while, some birds started to fly around them. I liked the contrast between ground/mountain, and the lightness of birds flight.

Children portraits in Askole
In summer 2022 I started for a hiking in the most beautiful mountains on this planet: Baltoro valley, in Karakorum (or Karakoram, in local language) range, in which, after some walking days, you can get in touch with K2, Masherbrum, Gasherbrum, Broad Peak, Chogolisa and many other mountains.
In Askole we forced to stay one day more, waiting for porters. Askole is the last village before wild region of Gilgit-Baltistan natural park.
Here people are very kind and hard workers. They live in touch with a great nature. Hospitality is strong, and I feel like at home.
The first day, I met Haibat Ali, and he, with his friends, took me for a tour. We visit the museum, the fields of peas and wheat, the amazing panorama of the valley, and he invited me at his home, with his family.
They offered me tea with biscuits. My mind reminded me to this pakistani proverb: "when you share the first cup of tea you're a stranger, with the second cup you are a friend, and with the third cup you become family".

Praise be to Allah, today, Monday, September 9, 2025, the Rise Hope Charity completed the distribution of rations despite the road closure in Baraldo and surrounding areas.
This time, the rations could only be distributed to eight deserving individuals due to a limited budget, but the intention, passion, and sincerity were stronger than ever.
Some deserving individuals were unable to reach the school due to the road closures, so the team delivered the rations to their homes through local resources. This effort was made to ensure that no one was left deprived.
The philanthropists who organized the rations include Asghar Agha Asco, Musa Kameel, Fida Ali Montu, and Naimat Shagri, who quietly contributed to the relief of others.
This ration was distributed among the following deserving individuals:

Hassan son of Muhammad - Sinu
Sharif - Tongal
Those who arrived at the school were served tea and a cold bottle, to show hospitality and respect along with their service.
We are grateful to all who contributed to this good deed according to their abilities. May Allah Almighty reward you all abundantly and grant us the opportunity to serve more people in the future.
The intention should be pure, the heart should be sincere.
Even a small deed becomes great.

17 november 2025: we have successfully prepared and packed coats for 86 children. Our total requirement was 150 coats, so we still need 64 more coats.
we have decided that this time we should also set aside 30 coats for the poor and elderly people of our village, so their needs can also be taken care of. With this, the total becomes 130 coats.
To cover the remaining expenses for 20 coats, we intend to organize a beautiful seminar and arts competition. In this program, we will arrange for the children of Braldu:
🎨 Art and Painting Competitions
🧵 Handmade Craft Exhibition and Competition
🎤 Voice and Talent Competitions
Through these activities, the children’s hidden talents will emerge, and it will boost their confidence.
We will keep cash prizes for the top performers, and special gifts for the top 10 students, so they feel encouraged to further polish their skills and talents.
Additionally, the transportation and other delivery costs of the items will also be covered through the same fund.
This is some pictures of the road between Pakora and Askoli, in north Pakistan (Gilgit-Baltistan region).
Askoli (red pin on the map) is reachable from Skardu, by jeep, after one day of dirt road. After crossing Shigar valley, Braldu zone begins.
It is a very dangerous road: there are many landslides every year, usually after monsonic rain in august, and some passages are very adrenaline-filled, with steep slopes over a impetuous river. Many times big rocks falling on the road, blocked it.
During summer you can also see many porters going to Askoli (the last village of the valley, where Haibat family live), where trekking and expedition start to K2, Baltoro valley and many other famous summits to climb.
